Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan’s foreign ministry has issued an emergency travel advisory urging nationals to avoid non-essential travel to Iran amid escalating regional tensions following joint military strikes by Israel and the United States against Iranian targets.
The advisory instructs Pakistani citizens residing in Iran to exercise heightened caution, remain vigilant, and minimise unnecessary movement. Authorities have urged nationals to maintain regular communication with Pakistani diplomatic missions as the security environment remains volatile.
The advisory follows a major escalation in Middle Eastern hostilities after coordinated strikes targeting multiple Iranian cities, including Tehran, Isfahan, Qom, Karaj, and Kermanshah. Iranian officials described the attacks as significant, while Israeli defence authorities stated the operation aimed to neutralise perceived security threats.
Reports from Iranian state media indicated that sites linked to the office of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei were among the targets. Authorities said the supreme leader was not present in Tehran during the strikes and had been relocated to a secure location.
The Pakistan foreign office emphasised that the security situation remains fluid and advised citizens to follow official guidance and travel advisories.
