Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan has issued over 2,800 visas to Sikh pilgrims from India to attend the annual Baisakhi festival, underscoring efforts to promote religious tourism and interfaith harmony.
According to the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, the pilgrims will visit Pakistan from April 10 to April 19, 2026, to participate in religious ceremonies marking the important Sikh festival.
During their stay, the pilgrims will visit key religious sites, including Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Nankana Sahib, and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur—all of which hold deep spiritual significance for the Sikh community.
Chargé d’Affaires Saad Ahmad Warraich extended congratulations to the pilgrims, stating that their visit reflects Pakistan’s commitment to promoting interfaith harmony, cultural exchange, and religious inclusivity.
He added that Pakistan, as a custodian of several sacred religious sites, remains dedicated to fostering values of tolerance, goodwill, and mutual respect.
The Baisakhi festival is one of the most significant events in the Sikh religious calendar, attracting pilgrims from around the world to historic gurdwaras in Pakistan each year.
