Pakistan Forces Repel Cross-Border Attacks, Taliban Retreat

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan’s security forces have effectively repelled cross-border attacks, forcing Afghan Taliban fighters to abandon several border outposts in the eastern Afghan provinces of Nuristan and Kunar, according to official and regional media reports.

The military response comes as part of Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq, launched to counter escalating cross-border incursions. Pakistani forces reportedly carried out targeted actions against militant positions, neutralizing threats and securing key border areas.

Afghan media outlet Afghanistan International reported that Taliban fighters retreated from multiple checkpoints following intense clashes with Pakistani forces. According to the report, some militants sought refuge in mosques and attempted to flee disguised as civilians.

Local tribal elders cited by Afghan media expressed concern over the Taliban’s inability to ensure security in the region, accusing them of spreading misinformation to conceal battlefield setbacks. They also highlighted deteriorating conditions for civilians, including food shortages and instability.

Security analysts say the operation underscores Pakistan’s capability and resolve to respond decisively to cross-border threats. Officials reiterated that any form of militant activity or safe havens targeting Pakistan will not be tolerated.

The developments mark a significant escalation in border tensions, with Islamabad signaling a firm stance against militancy and unauthorized incursions along its western frontier.
