Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan’s security forces have killed 34 militants in a series of intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces intensified counterterrorism operations in recent days targeting militant groups in multiple districts. On February 24, 26 militants were killed in four separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the statement said.
ISPR said an infiltration attempt near Hassan Khel in North Waziristan was foiled, and one militant, identified as an Afghan national, was killed. In Lakki Marwat, three militants were killed during an intelligence-based operation, while ten were killed in clashes in the Narmi Khel area of Bannu. Another 12 militants were killed in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, according to the statement.
In Balochistan, eight militants were killed during a clash in the Sambaza area of Zhob district, ISPR said.
Authorities said operations against militant groups will continue to ensure security and stability in the region.
