Rawalpindi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan’s security forces have killed 15 militants described as Indian-backed terrorists during two intelligence-based operations in Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were carried out on March 5 in the Harnai District and Basima District after intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants in the areas.
During the first intelligence-based operation in Harnai, security forces engaged a militant hideout following an intense exchange of fire, killing 12 militants allegedly backed by India.
In a separate operation in Basima, troops tracked the presence of militants and launched a coordinated assault using multiple calibers of weapons. After a heavy firefight, three more militants were killed, the statement said.
Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the militants, who were reportedly involved in multiple militant activities in the region.
Security forces have launched follow-up sanitization operations to ensure that no remaining militants are present in the area.
The ISPR said Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue their counterterrorism campaign under the national strategy Azm-e-Istehkam, which was approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.
The military reiterated its commitment to eliminating foreign-sponsored terrorism and ensuring long-term stability and security across the country.
