Pakistan Influencer Awards will recognise digital creators across more than 30 categories, with the public having the final say through online voting.
KARACHI, PAKISTAN — WEB DESK: Pakistan is set to host its first-ever Pakistan Influencer Awards, with the winners to be determined by public voting in a move aimed at formally recognising the country’s growing community of digital content creators.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for November 7 and will recognise creators across more than 30 categories, according to a report by Express News.
Public will decide award winners
Organisers have introduced a multi-stage selection process for the awards. Initially, 20 candidates in each category will be shortlisted with the help of an algorithm, with the results then verified through market research.
A jury comprising established content creators will subsequently reduce the list from 20 candidates to 10.
In the second stage, a jury consisting of professionals from the marketing and advertising sectors will select five finalists from the remaining candidates.
The final decision, however, will rest with the public. Online voting is scheduled to begin in October, allowing audiences to vote for their preferred creators.
More than 30 categories
The awards will cover creators active across major digital platforms, including YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
Categories will include Creator of the Year and Emerging Creator, alongside awards recognising work in fashion, travel, beauty, lifestyle, fitness, gaming, music, parenting and entertainment.
The organisers say the initiative is intended not only to honour successful influencers but also to provide greater structure and recognition to Pakistan’s expanding content-creator industry.
Digital content becomes a career
Millions of young people are increasingly using social media not simply for entertainment but as a professional platform and source of income.
Organisers say the awards are designed to encourage healthy competition and promote high-quality content creation within Pakistan’s rapidly developing digital ecosystem.
At an event on July 27, Pakistan Influencer Awards Chief Curator Talha Aslam said the initiative aims to create a healthy competitive environment that can help Pakistan’s content industry develop according to international standards while establishing basic principles for the sector.
Who will host the ceremony?
The awards ceremony will be hosted by Amtal Bawija and Fahad Tariq, who have gained recognition through the popular vlog Patan Gair.
Bawija said on Instagram that she had been associated with the digital sector for eight years and had not initially imagined that she would eventually represent Pakistan’s digital community as host of the country’s first influencer awards.
New recognition for Pakistan’s creator economy
The Pakistan Influencer Awards could mark a significant step in the formal recognition of the country’s creator economy.
Beyond celebrating established influencers, the initiative could provide emerging digital talent with greater visibility and encourage creators to focus on originality, quality and responsible use of social media.
The organisers also see the awards as an opportunity to showcase Pakistan’s increasingly diverse digital landscape to audiences beyond the country.
