Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has claimed that Afghan Taliban forces have suffered significant losses in the ongoing Operation Zarb-ul-Haq, launched in response to what he described as Afghan aggression.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Tarar said that 133 Taliban fighters had been killed and more than 200 wounded in the operation so far. He added that additional casualties were expected following strikes on defensive targets in Kabul, Paktia and Kandahar.
According to the minister, 27 Taliban posts were destroyed during the operation, while Pakistani forces reportedly took control of nine others.
Tarar further stated that Pakistan Air Force jets targeted and destroyed two corps headquarters, three brigade headquarters, two ammunition depots, one logistics base, three battalion headquarters and two sector headquarters. He also claimed that more than 80 tanks, artillery guns and armoured personnel carriers (APCs) were destroyed.
The claims could not be independently verified, and there was no immediate response from Afghan authorities regarding the reported losses.
The situation marks a sharp escalation in Pakistan-Afghanistan tensions, with regional and international observers closely monitoring developments along the border.
