Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Bangladesh’s Minister for Women and Social Welfare Zahid Hossain at the Foreign Office in Islamabad on Monday, as both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding bilateral relations across multiple sectors .
OIC Conference Participation
Dar welcomed Hossain’s arrival in Islamabad to participate in the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference and appreciated Bangladesh’s participation in the forum. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to women’s empowerment under the OIC framework .
Expanding Bilateral Ties
The discussions covered a wide range of areas of mutual interest, including trade, education, social welfare, and people-to-people contacts. Dar expressed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations with Bangladesh in diverse fields .
The meeting builds on previous engagements between the two countries, including a recent meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his Bangladeshi counterpart in New York, where both sides agreed to expand cooperation in police training and cybercrime prevention.
