Washington D.C. – Web Desk: FBI Director Kash Patel has praised Pakistan’s role in protecting American interests in the region, describing the partnership between the two countries as “critical” during a high-level meeting with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Washington .
Patel, in a statement on social media, said the FBI values Pakistan’s cooperation in safeguarding US interests and expressed hope for further strengthening law enforcement collaboration between the two nations.
Counter-Terrorism and Cybercrime Cooperation
The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in counter-terrorism, combating cybercrime, and strengthening institutional coordination between security agencies . Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to collaboration in employing modern resources, technical support, and specialized training for cyber investigations .
Naqvi, who shared details of the meeting on X (formerly Twitter), said the talks also covered illegal immigration, counter-terrorism efforts, and officer exchange programs.
Strengthening Bilateral Law Enforcement Ties
The Interior Minister praised Patel’s “professional acumen and commitment,” calling him an effective partner for Pakistan . The collaboration aims to strengthen capabilities in countering terrorist financing and cybercrime investigations, both domestically and internationally .
The meeting comes as Pakistan and the US work to expand cooperation in counter-terrorism, cybercrime, intelligence sharing, and cross-border crime prevention. Naqvi’s visit to the US is part of his participation in the UN CAPS 2026 summit and a series of high-level engagements with American officials.
