Lahore, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan has been awarded the hosting rights for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2028, marking another major milestone for the country in international cricket, according to an International Cricket Council (ICC) report.
The decision was approved during a recent ICC meeting, confirming Pakistan as the host nation for the prestigious global tournament.
The report also noted that matches involving India will be played at neutral venues, in line with established ICC arrangements for multi-nation tournaments.
The Women’s T20 World Cup 2028 will feature 12 teams in total. Ten teams will qualify directly, including the top eight sides from the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup, the host nation (if not already qualified), and the next highest-ranked teams in the ICC Women’s T20I rankings as of July 6, 2026.
The remaining two spots will be decided through a global qualifier tournament, which will include multiple regional qualification events.
Full tournament scheduling and regional allocations are expected to be finalized at the ICC’s July meeting.
Pakistan has recently secured hosting rights for several major ICC events, strengthening its position as a growing venue for international cricket.
