Bannu, Pakistan – Web Desk: A Pakistan Army officer, Lieutenant Colonel Shahzada Gul Faraz, was martyred during a counter-terrorism operation in the southern district of Bannu in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security sources confirmed on Saturday.
The 43-year-old officer belonged to Mansehra district and was a graduate of Cadet College Battagram (Batrasi). He was widely respected among colleagues for his professionalism, courage, and effective frontline leadership.
Lt Col Gul Faraz was serving with 34 Lancers Company in Bannu and had participated in several successful military operations during his career. He launched an operation against militants in the Srah Darga area of Bannu, where he and a soldier were killed in a militant attack.
Injured personnel were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, while authorities launched further investigations and maintained high security in the area until the clearance operation is completed.
Defence officials and public representatives paid tribute to the fallen officer, stating that sacrifices in the fight against terrorism would not go in vain. The martyred officer is survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters.
