Colombo, Sri Lanka – Web Desk: Pakistan head coach Mike Hesson has expressed confidence in the team’s preparations ahead of the Super 8 stage, saying the squad is fully ready with a clear strategy and defined player roles.
Speaking at a press conference in Colombo, Hesson said the team has finalized its preparations and every player understands their responsibilities. He praised Usman Tariq, describing him as a valuable player capable of contributing both in attack and defense.
Hesson also acknowledged New Zealand batter Mark Chapman’s past performances against Pakistan but said each match presents different conditions and challenges, adding that the team would not focus excessively on any single player.
He highlighted spin bowling as a major strength for Pakistan, praising Abrar Ahmed and other spinners, and said the team has flexibility to use more spin depending on conditions.
Discussing squad balance, Hesson noted the presence of players such as Mohammad Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf, who can play key roles when required. He added that Fakhar Zaman remains part of the squad and is capable of delivering strong performances if given the opportunity.
The head coach reiterated that Pakistan is fully prepared for the Super 8 phase and determined to perform at their best.
