Maya Ali Questions Petrol Price Hike Amid Pakistan Inflation

Date:

Lahore, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistani actor Maya Ali has publicly criticized rising fuel prices and inflation in Pakistan, questioning government policies amid economic pressure on ordinary citizens during the holy month of Ramadan.

In a series of social media posts, Maya Ali expressed concern that increasing petrol prices during Ramadan would further strain households already struggling with high living costs. She said that while governments may sometimes face difficult economic or political circumstances requiring tough decisions, policymakers should also consider the situation of daily wage earners.

The actor highlighted that many workers rely on motorcycles to travel for work and earn a daily income to support their families. According to her, rising fuel prices directly affect such individuals who must travel every day to make a living.

Maya Ali also noted that Ramadan is typically a period when citizens expect some financial relief, as many families are already under pressure due to increasing prices of essential goods and services. She said that salaries and daily incomes for many people have not kept pace with inflation, making it difficult for them to cope with rising costs.

In another message, she questioned the government’s explanation regarding limited fuel reserves. If authorities claim petrol and diesel stocks are available only for a few days, she asked how increasing prices could suddenly resolve the supply shortage.

“अगर there is a petrol shortage, will increasing the price suddenly increase the supply?” she asked, urging authorities to consider the impact of economic policies on vulnerable segments of society.

Pakistan has recently faced growing public concern over inflation, fuel prices, and the broader economic outlook, with many citizens calling for measures to ease financial pressure during Ramadan.
