Kuwait’s armed forces said four military personnel were injured after a Kuwaiti naval vessel came under attack on Tuesday, according to an official military statement.
Kuwait City, Kuwait – Web Desk: The military said the four injured service members received medical treatment and are in stable condition.
In a separate statement, Kuwait’s armed forces said they intercepted one ballistic missile, four cruise missiles, and 33 drones on Tuesday. The military said the projectiles were aimed at key military and civilian facilities across the country.
Authorities added that debris from intercepted missiles and drones caused material damage in several locations, but no additional casualties were immediately reported.
Separately, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility for targeting what it described as enemy weapons depots in Bahrain and Kuwait. The IRGC also claimed it struck a drone launch site at Kuwait’s Ali Al Salem Air Base, describing the attacks as retaliation for recent US military strikes on Iran.
The IRGC further warned that oil and gas exports from the region would remain disrupted as long as what it described as US “aggression” continued, adding that Washington’s actions would only delay the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC’s claims have not been independently verified, and there has been no immediate confirmation from US authorities regarding the alleged strike on Ali Al Salem Air Base.
