Sohail Afridi blames post-2022 decisions for unrest, urges lasting peace policy
Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – Web Desk: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has highlighted a sharp deterioration in provincial security following the 2022 regime change. Speaking to the media in Haripur, Afridi stated that from 2018 to 2022, the province enjoyed widespread peace, but subsequent policy shifts have destabilized the region.
Addressing the recent hardships in Tirah due to heavy snowfall, he emphasized that displacement and public suffering are mounting. Afridi underlined that all major parties and stakeholders agree that military operations are not a solution. He stressed the need for a comprehensive and sustainable policy developed with all stakeholders to ensure long-term peace.
He further criticized closed-door decisions, describing them as the root cause of current crises. “The mindset behind these policies does not prioritize education,” he said, adding that the economy is in turmoil, unemployment is rising, and the youth are increasingly seeking opportunities abroad. Afridi concluded by highlighting the shift from guns to the necessity of the pen for a better future.
