Pakistani security forces eliminate 13 militants in intelligence-based operations in KP
Bannu/Kurram, KP: Pakistani security forces conducted two intelligence-driven operations on January 13–14 in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts of Bannu and Kurram, resulting in the elimination of 13 militants linked to Indian-backed extremist group Fitna-ul-Khawarij.
According to ISPR, in Bannu, troops targeted a militant hideout. Following a fierce exchange of fire, eight militants were killed in a precision strike. Another operation in Kurram led to the deaths of five additional extremists during an armed encounter. Clearance and search operations continue to neutralize any remaining threats in the region.
These operations fall under the National Action Plan and the federal apex-approved vision “Azm-e-Istiqamat,” aimed at completely eradicating terrorism, including foreign-sponsored networks. Security forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism entirely from Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the forces’ success, emphasizing that under the Azm-e-Istiqamat vision, Pakistan’s armed forces are achieving significant victories against terrorism. He affirmed that the nation stands firmly with the military in the ongoing campaign to rid the country of all forms of terrorism.
This operation highlights Pakistan’s ongoing counter-terrorism efforts in KP and its commitment to national security against foreign-backed extremist elements.
