Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Over 20 Security Personnel Killed Amid Ramadan Attacks

Peshawar, Pakistan – Web Desk: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has witnessed a surge in terrorist attacks during the first week of Ramadan, resulting in the deaths of over 20 police and security personnel across multiple districts.

The southern districts were particularly affected, with 13 police officers killed and 10 others injured. In Kohat, a terrorist attack claimed seven police lives and left four injured. Meanwhile, a suicide bomber targeted a police check post in Bhakkar near Dera Ismail Khan, killing four officers and wounding four more.

In Bannu, a suicide attack on a security convoy killed four military personnel, including a lieutenant colonel, while another attack at an FC line injured eight officers. In Karak, extremists attacked an ambulance in Bahadur Khel, killing three FC personnel, and an assault on an FC fort left five officers injured.

Additional casualties were reported in Dera Ismail Khan, where one police officer was killed and two injured, and in South Waziristan’s Wana, where another officer lost his life.

Police have intensified operations following the spike in attacks during Ramadan. Notably, authorities arrested a female suicide bomber in Dera Ismail Khan during ongoing security actions.
