Karachi Municipality Strongly Denies Reports of Water Shortage at Fire Site

Date:

Karachi: The spokesperson for Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has strongly rejected social media claims suggesting that there was no water available to extinguish the fire at the shopping plaza. The spokesperson clarified that such reports are baseless and contrary to facts.

He stated that officials from the Water Board immediately began supplying water after the incident, and emergency measures were enforced at relevant hydrants. While some time is naturally required to receive information and reach the site, all departments and staff arrived promptly and participated in the rescue operation.

The spokesperson further noted that viral videos circulating on social media themselves show the presence of water, proving that claims of water shortage are false. He emphasized that the rescue operation is being jointly conducted by multiple agencies under full media supervision, ensuring transparency.

Finally, the spokesperson appealed to the public to avoid spreading rumors and baseless assumptions, and allow the administration to effectively complete rescue and relief efforts.
