JD Vance Says ‘Final Offer’ Made as Iran Talks End

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: U.S. Vice President JD Vance said Washington presented a “final and best offer” to Iran during negotiations in Islamabad, but no agreement was reached as Tehran declined to accept key U.S. conditions.

Speaking at a press briefing before departing Pakistan, Vance confirmed that talks with the Iranian delegation lasted over 21 hours and involved detailed discussions on multiple issues, including nuclear concerns and regional stability.

He thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their efforts in facilitating the مذاکرات, stating that Pakistan played a constructive role in bridging differences between the two sides.

Vance noted that while the discussions were “serious and conducted in good faith,” the absence of clear commitments from Iran—particularly regarding nuclear weapons—remained a major obstacle. He reiterated that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons remains a core objective of U.S. policy.

“The good news is we had serious engagement; the bad news is no deal was reached,” Vance said, adding that the final proposal remains on the table for Iran to consider.
