Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call from Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, during which both leaders discussed recent diplomatic developments involving talks between the United States and Iran.
According to an official statement, the two leaders exchanged views on the negotiations hosted recently in Islamabad, which focused on de-escalation efforts and regional stability.
Prime Minister Takaichi praised Pakistan’s diplomatic role in facilitating dialogue and supporting the ceasefire process, describing it as important for regional peace and global energy security.
She also expressed Japan’s full support for continued peace efforts, emphasizing the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement to ensure stability in the Middle East.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked his Japanese counterpart for her goodwill message and noted Pakistan’s appreciation for the detailed discussions held between U.S. and Iranian delegations in Islamabad.
He reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to supporting peace and maintaining ceasefire efforts in the region.
Both leaders also expressed a desire to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Japan and agreed to maintain close contact on matters of mutual interest, including regional and global developments.
