(Web Desk) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar has urged the Ulema and religious scholars to champion the cause of unity and solidarity within Muslim Ummah.
Addressing concluding ceremony of First International Qira’at Competition in Islamabad on Saturday, the Deputy Prime Minister said every Muslim state has its own unique strengths, and uniting and harnessing these collective strengths, the Muslim Ummah can become an invincible force.
Ishaq Dar said Islam is a religion of peace and it unequivocally denounces terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
The minister said all states must join hands to crush the menace of terrorism as ordained by Allah almighty.
Mentioning the resurgence of terrorist incidents in Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister said as terrorism has reared its ugly head again, Pakistan stands committed and resolute than ever to eliminate this scourge.
The minister applauded the Ministry of Religious Affairs for organizing the International Qira’at competition and gathering Qaris from around the Muslim world.
Dar suggested that next time Qaris from across the world be invited to participate in this competition.
He urged the participants particularly young Qaris to strengthen their connection with Quran. He thanked delegates and envoys of all participating countries for further strengthening the fraternal bond of Muslim Ummah.
