Iran’s Acting IRGC Commander Ahmad Vahidi Appears in Public After War

Date:

TEHRAN, Iran – Web Desk: Ahmad Vahidi, the acting commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has appeared in public for the first time since taking leadership following the onset of recent hostilities with the United States and Israel.

According to Iranian media reports, Vahidi attended a significant event in Tehran related to the funeral preparations for the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, where he was seen alongside other senior government and military officials. Vahidi’s appearance is considered his first public presence since being appointed acting commander after the martyrdom of his predecessor, Mohammad Pakpour, on March 1, 2026, in US and Israeli strikes.

His appointment had come at a time when Iran was facing severe security and military challenges. Political analysts view Vahidi’s re-emergence in public as an important symbol of stability within Iran’s military leadership and a signal of future strategy, particularly with regional tensions and security concerns persisting.
