TEHRAN, Iran – Web Desk: The funeral preparations for Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, have reached their peak as his casket has been placed at the Imam Khomeini Husseiniya Center in Tehran for public viewing by mourners, leaders, and dignitaries. Extraordinary arrangements have been made in the capital for the mourning ceremonies, with strict security measures enforced at Mosalla Al-Kabir and other key locations.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in a condolence message, stated that the passing of Ayatollah Khamenei has deeply saddened the Muslim Ummah. He remarked that this is not the end of the path but the beginning of a new chapter of unity, resilience, and progress. He emphasized that the Iranian nation emerges more united and hopeful after every trial, urging the public to participate in the funeral rites as a demonstration of national solidarity.
According to Iranian news agencies, a symbolic fist attributed to Ayatollah Khamenei has also been installed at Tehran’s Revolution Square as part of the funeral preparations, while a somber atmosphere of mourning is evident across the country. The main funeral ceremonies will culminate on July 9 with burial in Mashhad.
