Iranian Envoy Says Talks Only in Pakistan, Not Elsewhere, Trusts Islamabad Over US: Envoy

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, has said that any future negotiations will be held only in Pakistan and not elsewhere, stressing that Tehran places full trust in Islamabad as a neutral mediator.

Speaking at the Institute of Policy Research in Islamabad, the Iranian envoy said the United States is not a trustworthy party, while Pakistan has been recognized as a reliable and impartial facilitator for dialogue.

He reiterated that Iran prefers Pakistan as the sole venue for talks, adding that Islamabad’s diplomatic role in promoting peace has been widely appreciated by Tehran.

Reza Amiri Moghadam said Iran does not seek regional dominance but aims to protect its sovereignty, stressing that its nuclear program is entirely peaceful. He noted that no evidence has been presented against Iran, and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has also confirmed that Iran is not developing nuclear weapons.

The envoy added that since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran has faced continuous pressure and has resisted what he described as decades of US and allied influence.

He further alleged that Israel seeks regional dominance with US support, claiming that sudden strikes during diplomatic engagement have undermined negotiations.

Despite economic and human losses, he said Iran remains united and resilient.
