IRGC Deputy Commander Major General Mostafa Izadi says Iranian forces have advanced across ground, air, air-defence and naval capabilities, without detailing the systems involved.
Web Desk: Iran’s armed forces have made significant technological advances across several military fields, a senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander has said, adding that some technologies have already been used on the battlefield while others are intended for future deployment.
IRGC Deputy Commander-in-Chief Major General Mostafa Izadi said Iranian forces had made major strides in ground, air, air-defence and naval capabilities.
He did not disclose details of the technologies involved or specify which systems had already been used operationally.
Iran claims advances across military fields
Izadi said Iran’s armed forces were using a range of technologies across different military domains.
According to Press TV, he said some of these technologies had already been employed on the battlefield, while others would be used in the future.
The commander did not provide technical specifications, names of weapons systems or a timeline for the deployment of the technologies that have not yet been used.
As a result, the remarks do not independently establish the capabilities or operational effectiveness of any specific system.
‘Technological surprises’ for adversaries
Izadi’s comments were presented by Iranian state media as a warning that Tehran has additional technological capabilities that could be used against its adversaries.
However, the commander did not publicly identify those capabilities.
Earlier remarks by Iranian military officials have also referred to advances in domestically developed defence technologies and possible new systems. In September, Iranian armed forces spokesman Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi similarly said Iran had developed new military technologies and would respond to potential aggression with new capabilities.
Comments come amid regional tensions
Izadi’s statement comes amid continued military tensions involving Iran, the United States and Israel.
Reuters reported on October 1 that Tehran was preparing for the possibility of renewed large-scale US attacks and that Iranian commanders were reviewing potential military responses. The report said tensions had continued despite diplomatic efforts to reduce hostilities.
Against that backdrop, statements from Iranian military officials about weapons development and military preparedness have become part of Tehran’s public messaging.
Specific capabilities remain undisclosed
Izadi’s comments do not establish whether the technologies he referred to involve new missiles, drones, air-defence systems, naval weapons, electronic warfare or other military equipment.
No technical details were provided in the reports reviewed.
For news reporting purposes, the statement therefore remains an official Iranian claim about military technological progress, rather than an independently verified inventory of new Iranian weapons.
Iran highlights battlefield experience
Izadi said some of the technologies had already been used on the battlefield.
The statement did not identify the operations in which the systems were allegedly deployed or provide independent evidence of their performance.
Iran has repeatedly emphasised the development of domestic military capabilities as part of its defence strategy, particularly amid long-running tensions with the United States and Israel.
