Iran speaker says US seeks neither ceasefire nor talks

Date:

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iranian Parliament Speaker and senior political figure Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has said that the United States is seeking neither a ceasefire nor negotiations, arguing that Iran should respond decisively to defend the rights and interests of its people.

In a statement, Ghalibaf said Iran should not rely on slogans or unfulfilled promises, but instead pursue what he described as a carefully planned strategy aimed at achieving success through national strength, wisdom, and determination.

The Iranian speaker emphasized the importance of coordination across multiple fronts, including the military, diplomacy, public participation, and public service. According to Ghalibaf, these elements are interconnected and must work together to advance Iran’s national objectives.

He also warned against viewing diplomacy solely as closed-door discussions or symbolic gestures, arguing that effective diplomacy requires support from broader national capabilities and public engagement.

The remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing international attention on Iran’s relations with the United States and broader Middle East security developments.
