Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran has formally conveyed its response to a United States proposal through Pakistan, according to Iranian media, amid ongoing regional tensions and diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.
Reports in Iranian media claimed that Tehran’s reply indicates its position on the US proposal and suggests that Iran has rejected a ceasefire in its current form. However, Iran is said to be seeking a complete and lasting end to the war rather than a temporary truce.
The development comes at a time when backchannel diplomacy is reportedly underway, with Pakistan playing a mediatory role in facilitating communication between the two sides.
Separately, Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed the death of intelligence chief General Majid Khadami, describing him as a key figure in safeguarding national security. The Iranian president said that the country’s security and the freedom of its people were made possible through such sacrifices.
The situation underscores the fragile security environment in the region, with global powers closely monitoring developments and the potential for escalation or de-escalation depending on diplomatic outcomes.
