Iran Sends 71-Member Delegation for Key US Talks

Date:

Islamabad – Web Desk: A detailed breakdown of Iran’s delegation for crucial negotiations with the United States has emerged, revealing a 71-member team comprising senior officials, technical experts, and support staff.

According to Iranian state media, the delegation includes not only diplomats but also specialists in nuclear policy, security, and sanctions, reflecting the highly sensitive and complex nature of the talks. Advisory committees and media representatives are also part of the group to ensure comprehensive coverage and strategic coordination.

The delegation is led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi playing a key role in negotiations.

Officials say the inclusion of technical teams is aimed at providing real-time expertise on critical issues, including Iran’s nuclear program, sanctions relief, and regional security concerns.

On the US side, Vice President J. D. Vance is leading the delegation, accompanied by special envoy Steve Witkoff and senior adviser Jared Kushner.

Sources indicate that the administration of Donald Trump has put forward a 15-point proposal, focusing on ensuring Iran does not develop nuclear weapons, limiting uranium enrichment, easing sanctions under conditions, and maintaining open access to the Strait of Hormuz.

The negotiations, hosted in Islamabad, are being closely watched globally as tensions in the Middle East remain high, with analysts describing the talks as a critical step toward stabilizing the region.
