Iran Says US-Israel War Caused Major Damage to Its Energy Sector

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran has reported significant damage to its energy sector during the recent war with the United States and Israel, with its natural gas production capacity taking a major hit .

Impact on Gas Production

Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said the conflict reduced Iran’s total gas production capacity by approximately 230 million cubic metres per day, creating significant challenges for the country’s energy sector. The government is taking steps to restore damaged infrastructure and repair affected installations .

Economic Losses

Iran has previously sought compensation for war-related damages from the US and Israel. Iranian officials earlier estimated the war, which began on February 28, caused direct and indirect losses of approximately $270 billion to the country .

Energy analysts warn that if the gas production shortfall persists, it could have repercussions for Iran’s economy, regional energy supply, and global gas markets .
