Iran Says 12 Million Volunteers Register Amid US-Israel Tensions

Date:

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk, April 6, 2026: Iran’s interior minister has claimed that around 12 million people across the country have registered to support military efforts amid rising tensions with the United States and Israel.

According to officials, the call for volunteers was issued approximately 10 days ago, urging citizens to step forward to help safeguard national sovereignty. Authorities say the response has been significant, with millions signing up within a short period.

State-linked media in Iran also released video footage showing individuals in regions such as Sistan preparing to participate in potential defense efforts.

The reported mass mobilization comes as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate, raising concerns about further regional instability. Analysts note that such large-scale volunteer claims highlight both domestic sentiment and the broader intensity of the ongoing crisis.
