Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Iran has postponed its planned visit to Switzerland for peace negotiations, citing ongoing Israeli military actions in Lebanon, according to diplomatic sources.
Iranian Foreign Ministry officials told international media that the trip was called off at the last moment due to Israel’s continued “aggression” in Lebanon. No final location has yet been confirmed for the proposed talks, sources added.
Reports further said that at least 16 people were killed in fresh Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon, described as one of the heaviest bombardments in recent days, intensifying regional tensions.
According to Iranian sources, senior officials including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi were prepared to travel alongside Chief Negotiator Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf before the visit was postponed abruptly.
Qalibaf stated that any negotiations with the United States would remain aligned with Tehran’s “red lines,” adding that Iran would not hesitate to respond firmly to any escalation.
He further emphasized that Iran remains committed to its national interests and strategic positions, warning that any provocation would be met with a strong response.
