Web Desk – Tehran, Iran: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has released a new map outlining what it describes as areas of control in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, amid escalating regional tensions.
According to Iranian media, the map highlights a demarcation line in the southern section of the strait, stretching between Iran’s Kouh-e Mobarak and Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates. The move underscores Tehran’s assertion of control over key maritime routes in one of the world’s most critical النفط shipping corridors.
The development comes shortly after Iranian authorities instructed all commercial vessels and oil tankers transiting the Strait of Hormuz to remain in contact with Iranian forces during passage.
Iran has also issued warnings to the United States, cautioning its naval forces against approaching the area. A senior commander at Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said the country has “full control” over the strait and would respond firmly to any threat at any level.
Earlier, Iran’s National Security Council had warned that any U.S. intervention in the Strait of Hormuz would be considered a violation of the ongoing ceasefire.
The Strait of Hormuz remains a crucial chokepoint for global oil supplies, making any escalation in the region a significant concern for international energy markets and maritime security.
