Iran Denies Trump’s Claim of Ceasefire Request

Date:

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran has dismissed claims made by US President Donald Trump regarding a ceasefire request.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry called Trump’s statement “false and baseless.” Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei told an Egyptian newspaper that the United States has been drawn into the conflict due to Israel’s flawed strategies and provocations.

Baghaei added that global confidence in US diplomacy is declining, arguing that Washington uses negotiations primarily to impose its demands or wield power. He emphasized that Iranian citizens are currently unwilling to engage in negotiations due to past US actions that leveraged diplomacy to enforce compliance.

The spokesman also stated that Iran’s new leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is in good health but not publicly visible due to wartime conditions. Additionally, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed full control over the Strait of Hormuz, asserting that Trump’s statements will not lead to its reopening.

This comes after Trump claimed that Iran’s new regime had requested a ceasefire with the United States, a statement now refuted by Tehran.
