New York, USA – Web Desk: The ongoing conflict involving Iran has inflicted $186 billion in economic losses on Arab countries in just one month, according to UN Assistant Secretary-General Abdullah Al-Dardari.
Al-Dardari highlighted that every day of delayed ceasefire is causing further strain on the global economy. He estimated a 6% drop in GDP across the Arab region due to the conflict. The Eastern Mediterranean is also facing $30 billion in losses.
The humanitarian impact is equally severe: approximately 3.7 million jobs have been lost, and an additional 4 million people have fallen below or are at risk of falling below the poverty line over the past month.
Al-Dardari called for urgent diplomatic efforts to halt the war, emphasizing that continued hostilities not only devastate regional economies but also exacerbate poverty, unemployment, and social instability.
