Iran Delays Funeral of Former Supreme Leader Khamenei

Date:

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: The burial ceremony of Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, has been postponed to late June or early July, according to Tehran Mayor Alireza Zakani, cited by international media.

Reports indicate that the state funeral is now expected to take place during the second ten days of Muharram, between June 26 and July 5.

The schedule change marks a shift from earlier reports that suggested the burial would take place at the beginning of Muharram.

Officials have not provided additional details regarding the reasons for the postponement.
