Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: The Iran conflict has entered its 25th day amid escalating regional tensions and conflicting claims over possible diplomatic talks between the United States and Iran.
US President Donald Trump has claimed that discussions with Iran are ongoing and that a broader agreement could be reached. However, Iranian officials have strongly rejected these claims, calling them false and misleading.
Reports suggest that proposed strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure were temporarily postponed for five days, following earlier warnings and an ultimatum demanding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Tehran has maintained its position on the strategic waterway, while global oil markets continue to feel pressure from disrupted supply routes, particularly affecting Asian economies such as Japan and South Korea.
Meanwhile, hostilities continue across the region. Iran has reportedly launched additional missile attacks on Israel, while Gulf states intercepted multiple drone threats. Saudi Arabia said it destroyed around 20 incoming drones targeting its eastern region, with Kuwait and Bahrain also reporting air raid alerts.
In Lebanon, Iraq, and Syria, clashes have intensified. Israel struck southern Beirut suburbs, while US forces reportedly targeted Iran-linked positions in Iraq’s Anbar province, raising concerns that Iraq is becoming a secondary battleground in the wider conflict.
Mass protests have also erupted in Tehran and other Iranian cities in support of the government’s stance against the United States and Israel.
Analysts warn that rising energy prices are increasing domestic pressure in the United States, potentially influencing Washington’s approach to the conflict. Meanwhile, the United Kingdom has announced deployment of additional air defence systems to the Middle East as tensions continue to escalate.
