Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed neighboring Gulf states, asserting that recent Iranian military operations targeting U.S. assets were strictly defensive. In a statement shared via his official social media accounts, Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran sought to avoid war but had no choice after U.S. and Israeli attacks killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and key family members.
Pezeshkian stressed Iran’s respect for the sovereignty of neighboring countries, while noting that strikes on U.S. military bases were unavoidable. He reiterated that the operations were defensive and underscored the importance of regional collaboration to maintain stability and security in the Gulf.
The Iranian military has targeted U.S. bases and infrastructure across the Gulf, including the UAE, Qatar, and Oman. The Pentagon confirmed that more than four U.S. personnel were killed in these attacks. No official response from Washington or Tel Aviv has been released regarding Pezeshkian’s latest remarks, while tensions in the region remain elevated.
