Ex-PM Imran Khan diagnosed with retinal vein issue; treatment completed at Islamabad’s PIMS
Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, 74, has been successfully treated for a vision issue in his right eye at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad.
According to PIMS, detailed eye examinations including slit-lamp assessment, funduscopy, intraocular pressure measurements, laboratory tests, and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) confirmed central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) in his right eye. Treatment was conducted with full consent and involved anti-VEGF intravitreal injection under standard medical protocol.
The procedure, performed late Saturday night, lasted approximately 20 minutes, and Imran Khan was discharged with follow-up instructions. PIMS has confirmed that his overall health remains stable. The detailed medical report has also been shared with his family and Adiala Jail authorities.
This development highlights the prompt medical attention provided to the former Prime Minister, ensuring his eye condition is managed effectively.
