Islamabad: (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan was allowed to speak with his sons for 20 minutes, according to his sister, Aleema Khan.
Aleema Khan shared the update on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, stating that Imran Khan was visibly happy after hearing the voices of his children. She described the interaction as a brief but significant moment for the former prime minister during his ongoing health challenges.
In her statement, Aleema Khan emphasized the urgent need for immediate medical care at Shifa International Hospital under the supervision of his personal doctors. She stressed that specialist doctors must make every possible effort to restore Imran Khan’s eyesight, noting that delays in treatment have already caused damage.
“Deliberate delay in the provision of treatment had already caused damage to his vision,” she said, adding that any further postponement would neither be tolerated nor accepted. Aleema Khan maintained that immediate specialist care is essential to prevent permanent loss of eyesight, highlighting the critical nature of his current medical condition.
The brief conversation with his sons has been described as an emotional moment for the family and supporters, underscoring the personal impact of the former prime minister’s health challenges.
While authorities have not released a separate statement on the developments, Aleema Khan’s update reflects continued public concern over Imran Khan’s medical treatment and the need for specialist intervention to safeguard his vision.
Health advocates and political observers have noted that timely access to appropriate care is vital to prevent irreversible complications, with growing calls for expedited treatment to ensure the former leader’s well-being.
