Web Desk – The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revised the semi-final schedule for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, clarifying venue allocations following the completion of the Super Eight stage.
According to an official communication sent to stakeholders, the venue for the first semi-final will depend on which teams qualify. If Pakistan reach the semi-finals, they will play Semi-Final 1 in Colombo on March 4.
If Pakistan do not qualify but Sri Lanka advance and are not facing India, Sri Lanka will play the first semi-final in Colombo. However, if neither Pakistan nor Sri Lanka make it to the last four, Semi-Final 1 will be held in Kolkata, while Semi-Final 2 will take place in Mumbai.
The ICC further stated that if India qualify for the semi-finals, they will play in Mumbai unless they are drawn against Pakistan. In that scenario, the match will be moved to Colombo.
The revised scheduling framework aims to address logistical, security and commercial considerations while ensuring smooth tournament operations. The announcement has intensified anticipation among cricket fans as the race for the T20 World Cup semi-finals heats up.
