Tehran – Web Desk: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed the damage caused by an attack on Iran’s Khondab nuclear facility.
According to the IAEA, Iran reported the incident on March 27, 2026. The affected plant is currently non-operational, and critically, it did not contain any declared nuclear material, significantly reducing the risk of a nuclear hazard.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian urged IAEA experts to inform U.S. President Donald Trump of the ground realities, highlighting domestic dissatisfaction in the U.S. over Israel’s influence on policy.
Analysts note that while the attack and subsequent statements underscore the escalating regional tensions, the IAEA’s report indicates there is no immediate risk of a major nuclear incident.
