Govt trims diesel cost, keeps petrol price steady

Date:

KARACHI (Web Desk) – The government has announced revised prices of petroleum products, offering relief to consumers by reducing the price of high-speed diesel, while keeping petrol prices unchanged.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, the price of high-speed diesel has been cut by Rs14 per litre, whereas the price of petrol has been maintained.

For the next 15 days, the petrol price will remain at Rs263.45 per litre, giving motorists no surprise at the pump.

After the reduction, the price of high-speed diesel now stands at Rs265.65 per litre.

The new prices have come into effect from 12:00 midnight, as the government aims to strike a balance between providing relief and managing fiscal pressures.

Market observers said the diesel price cut will ease the burden on transport and goods movement, offering some breathing space to the public.
