ISLAMABAD – Web Desk: The federal government has decided to allocate substantial financial resources for key infrastructure and public welfare projects in the development budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2026-27, according to budget documents.
For improvement of the country’s communication system, Rs 100 billion has been allocated for the N-25 Quetta Road, Rs 30 billion for the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway, Rs 21 billion for the Mehran Highway, and Rs 25 billion for the Sindh Coastal Highway.
In the energy sector, Rs 26 billion has been allocated for the Mohmand Dam Hydro Power Project and Rs 21 billion for the Dasu Hydro Power Project to achieve self-reliance. For modernization of the railway system, Rs 25 billion has been allocated for the ML-1 project.
The budget also focuses on urban facilities and human development, with Rs 10 billion for the Karachi Bulk Water Supply Scheme, Rs 22 billion for the construction and expansion of Danish Schools network, and Rs 3 billion for medical facilities under the Prime Minister’s National Health Program.
