KARACHI (Web Desk) – Gold and silver prices continued their upward trend in both global and domestic markets, making the precious metals increasingly unaffordable for the general public.
On international bullion markets, the price of gold rose by $79 per ounce, reaching $5,012. Following the global increase, the domestic price of gold in Pakistan also climbed significantly.
The per-tola (11.66 grams) price of gold increased by PKR 7,900, reaching PKR 523,962. Meanwhile, the price per 10 grams of gold rose by PKR 6,773, bringing it to PKR 449,212.
Silver prices also recorded gains. The per-tola price of silver increased by PKR 358, reaching PKR 8,404, while the price per 10 grams rose to PKR 7,205.
Analysts attribute the rise to fluctuations in international gold markets and a strengthening of global demand, which continues to put upward pressure on domestic prices. Consumers and investors are advised to monitor market trends closely, as further volatility is expected in the coming weeks.
