Quetta, Pakistan – Web Desk: An explosion has been reported on the Western Bypass in Quetta, damaging a major gas pipeline and raising concerns over temporary supply disruptions.
According to officials, the blast affected an 18-inch diameter pipeline, causing significant damage. A senior official from Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) in Balochistan said a detailed assessment of the damage will be carried out after security clearance is granted.
Authorities added that repair work may take time, as replacement pipes will need to be transported from Karachi.
Residents have been advised to arrange alternative fuel sources for at least one to two days as repair operations are planned.
The cause of the explosion has not yet been officially confirmed, and further investigations are expected.
