Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The government has increased the prices of key petroleum products, including petrol, high-speed diesel, and light diesel, while providing limited relief by reducing kerosene rates, according to an official notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
The latest revision follows a price hike announced a day earlier, with the new rates taking effect from midnight on May 1. Officials said the move reflects ongoing adjustments in line with global oil price fluctuations.
Under the new pricing structure, petrol has been increased by Rs6.51 per litre, bringing its price to Rs399.86 per litre. High-speed diesel has seen a sharper rise of Rs19.39 per litre, pushing its new rate to Rs399.58 per litre.
In a subsequent adjustment, the government raised light diesel oil prices by Rs17.03 per litre, setting the new price at Rs287.54 per litre.
However, kerosene oil provided slight relief to consumers, with a reduction of Rs4.45 per litre, bringing its new price down to Rs360.76 per litre.
The Petroleum Division confirmed that the revised rates have been implemented nationwide, amid continued volatility in global energy markets.
