International affairs magazine Foreign Affairs has highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic role in helping reduce recent tensions between Iran and the United States, describing Islamabad as a responsible and effective regional power.
Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: According to the publication, Pakistan demonstrated proactive diplomacy during a period of heightened uncertainty by maintaining communication with both Tehran and Washington.
The report credited Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s diplomatic engagement and dialogue with the leadership of both countries as contributing to efforts aimed at de-escalating regional tensions.
Foreign Affairs said Pakistan had projected itself as a constructive regional actor, noting that the country’s diplomatic influence, strategic regional relationships and growing economic importance strengthen its position in international affairs.
The report also stated that Pakistan possesses several key characteristics of an emerging regional power, including diplomatic outreach, geopolitical relevance and expanding economic potential.
The assessment comes amid continued international attention on diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions and promote stability in the Middle East.
