Web Desk: England Under-19 defeated Pakistan Under-19 by 10 runs in a closely fought four-day Youth Test at Arundel, securing victory after Pakistan fell short while chasing a target of 262.
Pakistan were bowled out for 251 in their fourth innings, with the match going down to the final stages. Abdul Qadir top-scored for Pakistan with 81 runs, while captain Farhan Yousaf contributed 46.
England had earlier posted 333 in their first innings before Pakistan responded with 305. England then made 233 in their second innings, setting Pakistan a target of 262 for victory.
Pakistan made a strong attempt to chase the target but could not complete the pursuit. Abdul Qadir’s 81 and Farhan Yousaf’s 46 provided important contributions during the chase.
England bowlers seal narrow victory
England’s bowlers maintained pressure during Pakistan’s chase and eventually dismissed the visitors for 251.
Ralphie Albert was the standout bowler for England, taking six wickets, while Jack Nelson claimed four wickets.
For Pakistan, Ahmed Hussain took four wickets in England’s second innings. Mohammad Huzaifa claimed three wickets and Mohammad Sayyam took two.

The Youth Test was followed by a four-match ODI series between the two sides.
The first Youth ODI is scheduled for September 9 at Arundel, with the remaining matches scheduled for September 12, 14 and 16.
The ODI series will give both teams another opportunity to assess their young players ahead of their future international commitments.
