Dubai, UAE – Web Desk: Dubai Police have issued a stern warning against online begging and fraudulent donation campaigns, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan. Authorities noted a surge in professional beggars and scammers exploiting social media and websites to target residents’ generosity.

Officials urged the public to make charitable donations and Zakat only through officially recognized organizations and report any suspicious online activity. Individuals found soliciting money online could face imprisonment for up to three months and fines of up to 10,000 AED.

Dubai Police emphasized that illegal fundraising and fake appeals would face strict enforcement. Citizens are advised to ignore unverified social media posts and websites and to donate only via legitimate, accredited channels.
