Director Denies Tabu’s Rift With Akshay Over Bhool Bhulaiyaa

Date:

Mumbai, India – Web Desk: Speculation about a reported rift between Bollywood actor Tabu and Akshay Kumar over the upcoming film Bhool Bhulaiyaa has been dismissed by director Priyadarshan.

Reports had claimed that Tabu was upset over the removal of several key scenes from her character and allegedly expressed dissatisfaction with how her role was edited. Some unverified claims suggested she might have reconsidered her involvement in the project had she been aware of the changes earlier.

However, Priyadarshan strongly denied these rumours, calling them baseless and misleading. He stated that Tabu is not upset and would have directly communicated any concerns, given their long-standing professional relationship and previous collaborations.

The director clarified that all editing and final scene decisions are his responsibility alone, and rejected suggestions that Akshay Kumar had any role in cutting or influencing other actors’ scenes. He added that Akshay has always respected creative decisions and never pressured for changes.

Priyadarshan further said that certain elements are attempting to create unnecessary controversy around the film despite its improving box office performance.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa, released on April 17, features an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav. The film has received mixed reviews from critics but has maintained steady audience interest.

The film also marks one of the final screen appearances of veteran actor Asrani, who passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 84, adding emotional significance to the project.
